Around the Block V: Artists from Our Neighborhood Monday, June 9 - Thursday, July 24 Monday-Wednesday: 10:00am-5:00pm Thursdays: 10:00am-7:00pm Reception: Thursday, June 12, 5:30 to 7:30 pm Closing Reception: Thursday, July 24, 5:30 - 7pm Closed on June 3rd The Giertz Gallery at Parkland College will host "Around the Block V: Artists from Our Neighborhood" in collaboration with 40 North: Champaign County Arts Council. The juried exhibition featuring regional artists from Champaign County and District 505, from June 9 to July 24, 2025. The exhibition, curated by Parkland alumnus and SAIC assistant director Josh Fairbanks, showcases original works submitted by artists aged 18 and older. Gallery director Lisa Costello expressed excitement over the community-oriented event, emphasizing its importance in highlighting local talent. Over 80 artists are included in the exhibition. Opening remarks will be delivered during a reception on June 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and a closing reception will take place on July 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All events are free and accessible, with summer gallery hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mon-Wed) and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Thurs) and closed on July 3.
